Victory Kilts are no more...

I'm making an "official announcement" on XMARKS before we go ahead and pull them off the site... We're done making Victory kilts.

Why? Many reasons.

1. There are plenty of other solid kilt makers out there who do a good job with solids. Call me up and I'll give you my 2 cents worth...

2. A majority of our orders are for tartans. It takes a lot longer to make a Victory than it does a Philabeg and we're trying to focus the business on tartans. Victory Kilts were taking away from our "tartan making time".

3. I'm not having FUN making them like I used to (I say I b/c Kelly doesn't make them). I STARTED this whole thing b/c it was fun to make and sell kilts. When part of the business becomes a "real job" and I dread doing it, it's time to cut it out of the lineup.

That's the skinny... If you have a Victory kilt, it's now a COLLECTOR'S ITEM!

I just hope you're still having "fun" making the rest of your kilts. That would leave a huge hole if you decided to quit all together. Thanks for the heads up.

Kinda sad to see the Victory kilt go, but as you said, when it isn't any fun anymore it's not worth doing.

It's more a matter of trying to nail down where we're going as a company. Kelly and I need to concentrate on what we're the best at and what OUR customer base wants/needs from us. When 1 product line takes time away from the "real products", then it's time to cut it loose.

That's ok Rocky. I'm just starting the jones for the Hamilton. The solids have never particularly appealed to me but there are quite a few companies making them but not that many making what you do.

weird...I was just wearing my Victory Kilt.

The design has some really nice feactures. Maybe you can pass them on to some other kilt makers. I dig the key holder, the "V" apron, and the sporran with belt loops.

I must have gotten one of the last ones made as I only received it a few weeks ago...

I will now consider it a collectors item.

Sorry Rocky, but you know that I'm not real sad to hear that, they were not a kilt I could wear.

Do what you do well and have fun doing, you're a great kilt maker and your tartans are the best!

My suggestion, offer a wider range of good quality tartans.
We all have to make changes to improve our businesses, I hope it works out well for you.
