Can all interested parties drop me a line at trailryding@shaw.ca?
I would like to work on the guest list and to have a better idea on who is coming.
Also email me with any concern about the trip, like hotels, transportations or anything about Vancouver in General. I will try my best to answer any question.
If want to talk to me, leave your phone number and the best time to reach you at. I have no porblem to call anyone in North America. I will try to return any phone call in 24-48 hours.
FOr those who are interested in coming to the Gala Dinner, you will be able to take home a few souvenirs. I have yet to decide what they are, but it should include t-shirts/polo shirts and drink wares.
More information to follow.

We would like to make it clear that The Gathering is not a Celtic Event. It is about celebration of Kilts and to encourage more men to wear the Kilt casually. ALthough there will be some celtic elements, but do not expect a full blown Celtic Event.
It is going to be a big party for us. We are going to have dinners, kilts night, outtings, but no march to the city hall. We are going to do fun things, like Sight seeing, beer/whisky tasting, fishing, golfing, frisbee, Karaoke, hiking, whale watching, museum hopping..... If you guys want, we can even do a poker tournament!!!
Most importantly, we are going to stay visible in the public's eyes. We are not going to hide in one corner to do our things and have our celebrations. It is more fun that way.
Also, the 'Gala Dinner' isn't going to be a black tie event. It is summer time in the city and every one is going to be on vacation. Just a nice clean shirt will do.

Yep, takes me about 90 minutes to get from here to the border. Vancouver proper is about an hour extra, if the lines at the border are long. If not, then it's about 35 minutes from the border to Vancouver. From Seattle, it's about an extra 30 minutes, added to my times.
Hank, my suggestion would be to stay at a hotel in Lynnwood or Everett. That way you're closer to the change from 60 mph to 70 mph in Marysville. Quicker shot.

OK Guys. I'm all booked and ready for the fun!
My pal, Dave W. (who came with me in 2003 on the USA Tour), will be with me again in August. We're flying into Vancouver on Sunday July 31st, staying at the Days Inn hotel (20 minutes from Downtown), and are flying back to England on Saturday 13th August.
That's the full two weeks!
Let the party begin..................

Very good Hamish! I am so looking forward to having you here in person. I am sure that you will have a great time here. Two full weeks is just enough time to get addicted to this beautiful city, well one day here gets most.
Anyway, it will be great to meet you in person finally and have you share in the fun that we will be having.
Cheers!

Thank you Andrew. I am really looking forward to this visit. So many guys there who seem like old friends - but, strangely, we've not yet met. Happily that'll be rectified come August

Great, now I'll have to get a new kilt so that I look presentable. Luckily it is already on order.
Anyone else looking it to plans to make it out here? Can we held (no, I can't pay for the ticket) in any way?

The only thing that will stop me from coming out in August will be a new job that won't give me the 4 days off that I'd require. Otherwise I'm already planning my trip. It will be fantastic finally getting to meet everyone!

I have faith that you are going to convince your boss will give you the days off. Just tell the boss that you have a reunion in BC.

Hehehe! That's pretty much what I plan to do. I'll tell them that it's a reunion that I'm already committed to attending. I don't care if I have to take it off without pay, as long as I can be there.
