Finished my Kilt
Hey All,
I finished my Stewart Hunting kilt today. Everything turned out OK, except I made the dang fell too long.
I guess I made a measurement wrong, and the fell is just below the widest portion of my hips, so the 'swing' isn't all that great....
Otherwise, it turned out pretty well...
I'll post pictures shortly.....

That's great Beer. I'm building a Stuart hunting myself - of the muted variety. Have no idea when It will be finished. Glad you completed yours. Hope you get years of enjoyment out of it.

Thanks All...
I got some pictures up..
When my wife got home from work, she commented on how nice she thought it looks, then said "It's nice to see something that fits your butt...."

WOW! It looks like you did a fantastic job. It will definately be something you're proud to wear. I'm sure there are many a kilt wearer out there that will be jealous I know I am
I'm sure you're already making plans for the next one. Thanks for the pics.

I gouged about a half inch patch of skin down to almost the last layer on my middle finger of the right hand.
That just happens to be my needle-pushing finger!!
After a trip to the doctor, some gauze and lots of tape, I was able to tape it into position for sewing.
It is healing nicely, so I can use vacation on Monday to start my Gordon Modern kilt... or my Atlanta, I can't decide!!!!

Thanks Dana,
Sorry to hear about your situation, but I understand completely. My wife and I have had our situations, and for a time the kilt was one of them... You did the right thing. I hope you stick around for the fellowship if not for your kilts....

Turned out very nice! How much time do you think you put into it? Where did you learn to do it. You've got me wondering if I could make my own, now. And you did say it's all done by hand? Is that true?

Put me down as another impressed party.
I've made a few of my own, so I know the pains of amateur kiltmaking. That's a truly excellent job you did. Wear it with pride!
