A Wide Span of Appreciation for Kilts

I live in a remote area, but a tourist area - Page/Lake Powell, AZ

Took my new (to me) UK mocker out for its first hike.

Was on a trail used by tourists to reach the Horseshoe Bend overlook of Glen Canyon.

Passed a young man in his 20s with two ladies, all with the California look that fit the car with the California plates at the trailhead. They all smiled and he said, "Love the kilt bro"

Farther down the trail I passed six young ladies about the same age, they were chatting in Italian and looked like Italian tourists. Just as I passed one of them cut loose with a wolf whistle. I turned and smiled and they just giggled like school girls.

Been a loooong time since this 60-year-old fossil has gotten a wolf whistle from a lady he's never met.

In the space of a few minutes, in the canyonlands of Northern Arizona, kilts get approval from guys from California and ladies from Italy.

    A good day.

California and Italy? Would the appropriate response have been "Gratzi dude!"

I was once passed by two girls chattering in French. As they spotted me, one turned to the other and murmured, "Ooh la la!"

A Polish tourist blushingly asked if she could have her picture taken with me (one of the photos in my gallery).

Guess kilts have an international appeal.

You weren't airing the boys again with the aprons tucking into your belt at the time were you?

    Nope Colin,

Had just started up the trail...

Will try to remember next time...except for the silly Arizona laws against that sort of thing and the consequences of being arrested...naaa...
