Philly - St. Patty's Day libations
I've already pre-emptively taken a personal day from work for 3/18 (Hangover Day). Philly has some good representation here. Who's up for some St. Patty's Day debauchery with our Celtic cousins?
I won't be driving so I'm hoping to go somewhere not too terribly far from the regional rail stations if at all possible.

FW is a great place and I'd love to hit it.
I've not been to Tir Na Nog yet. Is it any good? I noticed it's a short walk from Suburban Station which makes it a lot more practical for me to get there and back without a car.

I'll warn the band.
If there's a line, tap on the bay window to get my attention and I'll make sure that the bouncers let you in right away. Either that, or just tell them that you're with me.
The place is HUGE and real nice. Last year, we had a line around the entire block waiting to get in. If you haven't been there yet, it's got the beauty of Kildare's in King of Prussia... the attitude of Finnigan's Wake... and the crowd like nowhere else. GREAT people!

How about McGillians Old Ale House on Drury Lane (http://www.mcgillins.com), just off of Chestnut Street and a few blocks from City Hall and the Surburban Rail Lines. It is touted as the oldest continually operating pub in Philadelphia, and throws one hell of a St Patty's day party. I'm sure a kilt will get you past the doorman at no charge!

It's starting to sound like a full on pub crawl may be in order.
We've got at least three good venues. I know that if a fellow Xmarks member is performing in town that night, I've got to check it out.
Jimmy, I see Barley Juice is scheduled to take the stage pretty early... 3:00... how late will you be playing? I have taken off on the 18th as a hangover day but still have to work on 3/17 (though I may have to sneak out early)

This will be the second appearance at Tir na Nog in five days, so we'll (most likely) go from 3-9 or 10. Since it's a weeknight, they'll probably let us go a little early. At that point, I'll probably head-over to Finnigan's Wake, like I did last year, to finish-up with The Hooligans.
Brian's suggestion of McGillians Old Ale House is a good one! That place ROCKS on St. Pat's. It can get very crowded, but you won't lack for "entertainment".
You're a WISE MAN. Parking in Philly on the 17th (with the normal work problems) is a BITE! Fortunately, we have an appearance at 10am on NBC-10, so we MAY be allowed to park at the Lowe's Hotel.

Hmm maybe I'll just do two... Tir na Nog until Barley Juice finishes, and then over to Finnigan's Wake. Then hop a cab back to the train station and stagger the block or so from the train station back home.

If you can make it... GREAT. Haven't seen you in a while.
Since you've "voiced-up" I'll leave your name with the guys at the door, and tell them that you'll be in a kilt too. IF there's a charge to get in... I'll get it "comped".

Two questions, out of curiosity:
Jimmy, are you guys going to ever make a west coast swing?
and
Is Tir Na Nog a chain? We used to have a bar here in Seattle with that title, but it changed to Fado a few years back.
Cheers in advance,
George...
P.S. Finnigan's Wake? What a terrific name for a bar. Joyce Rambles a bit for my taste, but very cool allusion.
