Footwear
Just wondering what you guys wear on your feet when clothed in a traditional kilt? - Apart from ghillies when you're fully decked out. Something more casual.
Cheers.

With a traditional kilt? Other than the hair on my toes, boots, sneakers, dress shoes and casual shoes. I also have a set of over the calf moccasins for the 'old' look and a pair of ankle high moccasins for lounging. Just depends on how much I want to dress up or down.

I wear anything from Chacos to sneakers to boots to wingtips. Depends what else I'm wearing, or what mood I'm in.

It depends on what I have on "up top". If I am in a t-shirt, I go with a pair of "Combat boots". If I want to get dressed up with a shirt and tie, I wear my Ghillies (before I had them, I wore wing tips). That's pretty much the only footwear I wear with my kilt... not a fan of the sneakers/kilt or sandals/kilt combos.

Hey Tucson,
Until I can find Gillies in WIDE sizes for American feet (are all shoes made in the orient now??) I wear wingtips for the fancy look. Have a pair of black wingtips and brown wingtips.
Was at a local concert tonight wearing my RKilt saffron leather kilt. Wore it with the brown wingtips, off white kilt hose, leather flashes, and a white shirt.
Wear the black wingtips with my tartan tank.

For casual wear, it all depends on what the weather is, and how my feet are feeling. Sometimes, I'll do leather Teva sandals that have a mostly closed toe configuration, other times, I'll wear a pair of trail running shoes, or my Doc Martens 8-eyelet boots. The latter, usually with dark kilt hose. Only times I do the off-white is either with the sandals or the trail runners, since they don't seem to go well with black boots. Too much of a contrast. I sometimes wear a pair of dark brown casual shoes, usually with oatmeal kilt hose...

I have a pair black "Rockport Men in Black Collection" wing tips that I like with the kilt.
