I golf quite a bit but have not as of yet golfed in my kilt(s).
Think it would be an excellent idea to see if it improves my game!
I foresee three problem situations:
1) Bending over instead of crouching to tee the ball up.
2) Same thing on the green to mark the ball placement or retreive the ball out of the cup.
3) Riding/Driving a golf cart and not having something substantial to hold the kilt apron in place.
The rules of golf do not stipulate any penalty strokes for activities such as these.
But careless exposure is apt to get noticed and reported resulting in some further doofus rules
about attire to be worn on the course.
As for the little accessories of golf such as tees; provisional balls; green repair tools and ball
markers - a fanny pack worn off the hip would be the best answer.
I say off the hip as I would not want it to be in the way of my swing or putting as would a spooran.
You could use a spooran and wear it off the hip/waist but a spooran is just too formal for this sport.
As for the kilt - I would wear any of my "Sportkilts" or "Stillwater" 'Economy' they seem
best suited for the game. A heavy woolen tank is not going to be fun!
"Hey!" anybody on the Forum from or near St.Andrews - What do the locals wear?
