That's what I was referring to as well Raphael... When I took journalism classes (I was a communications major), we looked at news (TV, Magazine, Paper, etc) and deconstructed it. News is supposed to be unbiased and only report facts. The exception to the rule is the "Opinion column" where you can go on a rant and it's acceptable because it is known that it's an opinion.
In order to keep the Integrity of the event being reported intact, the reporter must remain objective and allow the listener/reader to come to their own conclusions. Is it possible to remain completely unbiased? No, but it's the goal a reporter should constantly strive for.

When was the last time you saw that in any form of North American media?

It's limited ESPECIALLY around "hot button issues". The problem is that the news isn't allowed to just be... they need to answer to advertisers to get $ to proceed. Best news programs are on PBS.
Now we're REALLY off topic. Let's just agree that the media as they sit now are biased morons.

local weather is Victorville, CA
I dinna ken
Victorville is in the high desert, roughly 100 miles inland from here. Obviously, that was a desert red-neck, sent down to report on the "odd" lowlanders.
I thought about going to that compitition, but I had already made plans to be at the Irish Music Fest. that day.
I don't know any of those guys, but I have been to that pub several times. In fact, just this morning, I was telling my wife that I might meet her there after her doctors appointment in a building less than a mile away from there.
