			The New Stillwater Kilts

					The Stillwater Heavy Kilts.
At 99 bucks, seemed like an awfully good deal for an 8 yard kilt. Everything comes sewn down and tapered according to the page.

 http://www.stillwaterkilts.com/heavykilt.html

It almost looks to good to be true, which usually means that it is to good to be true. That, and I typically do not buy stuff that is manufactured in Asia. But, Jimmy Carbomb recommended the standard Stillwater, and coming from him, that means something, because he puts his money where his mouth is. So, what can I say. I bought one of the new Heavy Weight Stillwater Kilts. No idea when it will show up at my door.

I will have more to say when it gets here.

Anybody else have one of these economy tanks yet?

I don't think it matters where the Kilts are made. It's how good are they put together and look. Let us know what the kilt is like when you recieve it.

I too am very interested in knowing what you think of these. I have two Standard kilts and one Economy kilt from these guys and for the money have been quite happy. They're not up to the quality of my tank but great for the everyday kilt wearer. The difference being I plan on wearing out my stillwaters while expecting my taylored kilt to out live me.
The good news, Dred, is you shouldn't have to wait too long. Mine usually show up in two days or so.

If the new "Heavy Kilt" was in almost anything except the BlackWatch tartan (which I just won't wear) then I would already have one.
The "Economy Kilts" are for someone that wants to display something on a wall, or put it on for a costume.

The "Standard Kilts" (in my opinion) are the best buy in kilts these days. I wear mine all the time and absolutely love the thing!

The "Heavy Kilts" are supposed to be the answer to our comments. We wanted heavier... and they are. We wanted certain sewn-in characteristics... and they are. We wanted them to be "washable"... and they are. We wanted something heavier than Poly/Viscose... and they are. We wanted them lined... and they are. We wanted three buckles, sewn down hips, tapered aprons, etc... and they are. We also wanted them to be affordable... and they are.

I don't care if they're made in the Abu Grabe Prison! Sewing-to-specs is NOT a difficult thing. Whoever will do the job for a price that the comsumer can handle, will get the work. That's called business. Anyone that can't handle that fact needs to go back to the third grade. I know the kilt company owners, and they're not the type to produce kilts in a controversial manner and damage their good names!

I fully expect StillWater Kilts to remain dedicated to providing nice kilts for a great price. They're a GREAT option to spending money on SportKilts... as that's the competition. I would NOT be spending my money on other kilt companies (since I obviously can make my own) if they weren't worth it!

Just a heads up... You can bid on these, from Stillwater's Ebay store, starting at $89 instead of $99.
Might be able to save $10....
