Damm! We are so cutting edge...

"Ever since Mel Gibson, an Australian brandishing a dubious accent, played William Wallace, the Scots hero, in Braveheart, his 1995 film, American women have regarded Scotsmen as being sex on legs"

Lol that reminds me of a great quote from a magazine I read years ago about the modern day influx of Irish culture:

"From high culture (Nobel Lauriate writers) to pop culture (The Corrs, Cranberries and U2) to low culture (That silly "Lord of the Dance") the world has reached the conclusion that the Irish are the coolest people on the planet!"

    Yay to Celtic Heritage!

There was this animated show "Family Guy" that some of you might have heard of. One episode they are tracing the family roots, and they go to the Irish History Museum. There's an movie on what they believed Ireland was before the invention of Whiskey. And there are all these flying cars and futuristic buildings. The scientists are about to transform their entire population into beings of pure energy, when another scientist comes in saying "Hey Michal McConnel has invented a new type of beverage in his basement! It's call Whisk-ey!" They look at it, drink some, and then start fighting each other, knocking over things, tackling the guy with the booze... I laughed for about 10 minutes over it!

There's another great saying, based off the title of a book How the Irish Saved Civilization "Sure the Irish saved civilization, but then we had a couple of pints and forgot where the hell we put it!"
