Is Celtic Connection/Welsh Cilts Out of Business??
Got a hankering for a Welsh Kilt. Keep getting the local Welsh Society newsletter. I've Welch blood, what the heck.
Went to Welsh Kilts which is Celtic Connection and went to order...clicked on their link called "measurement form" and instead of getting a form I got an email form. So emailed...to find out how to get the measurement form.
The emails came back "user unknown" Now this is the link of their website...???
website is, or was, http://www.ihscelti.com/The%20Celtic...elsh_cilts.htm
Any current info appreciated.

Gosh, I hope not Ron. That was one of the few places you could find a Welsh Cilt in the US that was affordable. I've never ordered from them, but had considered them in the future.
If you've got more questions about the Welsh Cilt, Chris (who pops in occasionally) has a great website dedicated to it. Here's his page of links:

Maybe one of these other companies could help.

Thanks Rufus,
The website was messed up and when I emailed they both came back undeliverable...so wound up ordering a Macdonald of Kingsburgh - my clan tartan - from Kathy's Kilts instead.
I'll check the other sites, may have to wait for some dinero again now.
Will check back later and see if they fixed things or if they really are out of business.

Aye,
Her workmanship is incredible, and all hand sewn. How could I go anywhere else for a Traditional. She even puts those little hanger things on...if only someone sold hangers for them.

Ron,
I assume that by "those little hanger things" you mean the two loops of ribbon attached to the inside of the waistband?
Those are not really suitable for long-term hanging of your kilt - the pleats will twist since they are not properly supported. Ideally the waistband needs to be supported along its full length, and for that reason, I use the hangers with a pair of wooden bars that clamp the entire waistband when it is folded in three with the buckles/straps done up as if it were being worn. The bars can also be slid through one, if not both, of the belt loops at the back of the kilt for extra security.
Those hanging loops on the kilt are, I believe, a throwback to the military. At night, the soldier would fold his kilt (much as I describe above) and then fold it again, in half, so that the two loops would be together. These could then be hung on a single hook above the man's bed, without taking up a lot of space. Again, not recommended for long-term storage!!

I found that the best thing to do with the loops is to cut them off.

Thanks Ham, Casey.
No wonder I couldn't find any of those hangers on line. I use the four clips now. Gonna experiment with the Ham method.
I have used them loops to hike up my kilt since I've lost weight. Kathy says she can reduce it for me when she comes up for air in a few months.
And again, thanks Ham, you the man!

I've found those loops no use at all - but (shame on me, ) when I took a kilt to the cleaners, they had litle clips that fit on the hanger and they were happy to give me a handful, so a regular hanger now will securely hold the full width of my kilts.
