Barb's posse
I've been lucky enough to receive one of Barb's books about kiltmaking to attempt and comment on. I'm interested to know if any other wish to keep regular contact about progress and issues?
So far I've read the book and got the tartan ordered. Took me longer than the postal service from the US and that was only a few days!!!

Kilt book
Hey Phil!
I also have one of the books. So far I have the material sized. The next step for me is to lay out the pleats. Boy I wished that I paid moe attention in math class when fractions were being explained
But I think I have it pretty much figured out. I will know when I start to sew. I think that it is a good idea to keep in touch, I need all the help I can get. Well good luck with your kilt making

I also think it's a good idea. I have not yet received the book from Barb, but I suspect it will arrive this week. The problem I have is that it will likely be several weeks before I can start the job - April and May are *very* busy months.
But I can contribute as much as possible in the interim, and it would certainly be valuable to learn what everyone else is experiencing.

Yeah, sure!
I will go cloth hunting next week and being on a rather tight budget now I will be making a self- colour kilt. I´m not sure when I will find the time to start on it but you will hear from me!

Hi Phil, I would be happy to help in anyway that I can. I have utilised the book, and have completed my kilt. Barb was very helpful, and I like to return the favour when I can.
Cheers,
Rick

Just received Barb's book today. I've only skimmed a few chapters, but this is one fine piece of work! "Comprehensive" is the word that first comes to mind. I'm looking forward to this.

Kevin, if you take your time and follow the instructions in Barbs book you'll end up with a kilt to be proud of. I have the book and it's most educational and, taken step by step, it's easy enough to follow as you work and you'll come to really appreciate the spiral binding.

A kilt with spiral binding? Now there's something for us to think about

What! You mean your kilts don't have the spiral binding?
I've got one of Barb's books and read through it once for ideas. My next step is to order supplies and on my next day off I'll head out to my local Pendelton overstock/outlet fabric store to see if they might have some fabric that will be suitable. I'm feeling pumped up and positive about the whole project, my wife and daughters however just grin and shake thier heads.
