New Kilt from Matt Newsome

This very special kilt arrived last Friday from Matt at www.albanach.org Unusually for me I was unable to photograph it immediately, and even now, the photos I have are not of the best quality - but the kilt is!

It is one of Matt's unique 4 yard, box-pleated, early 19th Century-style, kilts which I requested him to tailor for me in an unusual grey Harris Tweed. I am absolutely thrilled with it, and wish to thank Matt publicly for his craftsmanship - and for bringing this particular fabric to my attention.

Ham that looks great, both as a kilt and on you. The choice of material is also wonderful...it just looks great!
As another owner of one of Matt's boxpleated kilts I too must thank him again and I do hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

Hamish, I just replied to this under the "Union Kilts" subject line before I saw this one. I'm glad to be able to see you in the kilt, it looks splendid on. (My mother saw it as I was making it, and asked me if I ever had trouble parting with a kilt I had made for someone -- I said, no, I had enough of this tweed cloth to make one for myself!).

Anyway, I saw the two pictures from your gallery but for whatever reason the third that you posted here is not showing up for me. Anyone else have that problem?

I am sorry, Chaps. I've no idea where the image in my post has gone. It was there when I came back to check after posting!

Anyway, since it was a different image to the two in my Gallery, I have now put it there as well.

Matt: I'd be honoured for you to select one of the images - feel free. The quality is not all that I'd have hoped for however. Perhaps I'll have another go later, but it might be next week.
