    Cheers
Oh, thank you 'Uncle' for the publicity! There is, however, a far wider selection of images in my IMFF photo album (89 images plus 2 sub-albums). The link is below.

A warm "welcome" from me also, Buster. This is a great place - if you have time to keep up with it all!!

Yes, I usually wear boots when kilted casually - but never when formal or dressy is called for.

I have a pair of John Fluevog "Joe" boots which I wear pretty much every day. They're not cheap ($160 US), but I've had them for almost a year now, and other than needing a shine once in a while they have held up amazingly well.

Plus, they have the springy "Seventh Heaven Angel sole" which the manufacturer claims to be resistant to "Alkali, Water, Acid, Fatigue and Satan." Good deal, I say.

When I want to look like a trendy 20 something in my kilt (aka when out to a pub with some friends and I'm not dressed to the 9's) I have a pair of high black motorcycle boots with Silver trim. Best thing about it besides looking really cool, is that it adds another inch or so to my already 6'4", so I'm TOWERing over anyone who would want to make a 'nice skirt' comment :-P

    Foot wear choices.

For casual wear I usually go with hiking boots or my Doc Martins. They work with both my traditional kilt and with my UKs. For Semi formal times I go with regular lace up dress or semi drewss shoes and for formal occasions I wear buckled dress shoes. I just don't like the ghillie shoes at all.

As far as socks vs hose, I depends on how dressy I want to look. Kilt hose and gaters look good but are a bit of a pain to wear. I perfer regular old hiking socks if I can get away with it.

I found these at Payless Shoes last fall for $40 Canadian. They work great with a kilt.

    ThanX!

Do I hear a resounding yes? I appreciate the feedback. I have only recently joined Clan Forrester and just couldn't put shoes on. I'm a boot wearin kinda Scot. I have only one pair of shoes for jogging. I wear boots with my "Sundy Best". Guess I'm gonna wear them with the Kilt too!

For those that like a little metal hardware on their boots, I'm thinking about these at Sporstsman's Guide for $60

Looks like I will be returning to the La Sportiva Makalu's that I wore back in the late '90s... They took a while to be broken in, but, once they were, they fit perfectly and provided the ankle support I need.
