Werin lace up Boots with yer Kilt

I'm looking for some opinions(and I know I'll get'm) concerning wearing laced boots with my kilt. I don't care for shoes or most traditional footwear that I have seen so far. I'm pondering on western lace up boots with kilties. What do ya think?

You know, I was thinking the same thing about those western style boots for a while (you're talking about the ones with no padding at the top, just straight leather, right?), but the more I thought about it, the more I looked at how narrow the ankles would look compared to the mass of the boot, at least, with my size 13W they would. For boot wear, I think the thickness of a work boot combined with the scrunched or rolled socks carries the look of "muscular" all the way down from the calves to the soles; that's what I've worn so far.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do about dress shoes, because I think the shoes I have are going to look huge without slacks to carry the lines. I've got to find some shoes that minimize my feet without cramping them.

I've worn hiking boots and now wear a pair of 8-eyelet Doc Martens that are getting pretty worn out. Going back to hiking boots, since they're more my style and are a bit more comfortable. They also provide better ankle support than the Docs do. Anyway, with boots, I'm going to dissent a little from what Ham does and say that I prefer to wear my kilt hose fully extended. Looks better, especially if I'm wearing darker hose (or other dark-colored socks)... If you're thinking of cowboy boots, they may not work too well with kilts.

Oh, btw, Atticus, the boots that are worn by the UK model, are New Rock boots, IIRC.

I've said it earlier, that when I wear my Doc Marten's, I've been called a stylin' dude! Just love those comments
