    She thought it was me

    Greetings all,

A lovely young lass of three came up to me this morning and said that she saw me yesterday. Knowing that she was out of town with her parents I questioned her where she saw me. I was up front with those blowing things came the reply. I looked at her mother with a questioning look, and was informed that they saw a bagpiper playing in front of where they were sitting. So in her eyes, guys in kilts must be me.

Just had to share that with you all

    Kids are great aren't they.

I used get that all the time while in the Marine Corps. Walking thru the PX in uniform the kids only saw the cammies or our dress uniforms and would come running up to us calling "Daddy!" Proved to be quite awkward and embarrasing for the young mothers.

But still sweet to see the affection the kids had for their Dads.

    similar stories...

One day after getting off duty at the battlefield, I agreed to meet my parents for dinner at a local restaurant -- I got there before they did, went in, and was seated at a table next to a couple and their young daughter, maybe about 5 years old.

She obviously been watching me through the window as I walked in, because as soon as I sat down, she came up to me & asked:

    "Are you a mountie?"

She evidently saw my "smokey bear" hat and thought I was an RCMP constable. Her mother apologized, but I thought it was great that she could tell the similarities in hats!

Another young girl one time asked if I was a policeman -- when I replied that I was a ranger, she said:

    "A Reindeer?"

    Cheers,

    Todd

Geez Glen! That poor little girl will have to get "cloning" explained to her the first time she sees a Pipe Band!

You're lucky. The only time I get confused for someone else is when I get mistaken for "that guy on the board in the Post Office".

Little kids and kilts are great. Though one time I was visiting my mothers kindergarten class and one of the boys rolled over and tried to peer up the kilt
