Just realized I could change the style! Wow!

UPDATE: Don't do this unless you don't care that some of the links don't appear. Read responses below prior to switching!!!

So, I've been using the Alexis skin for the board since I stumbled upon it months ago. I just realized you can change the skin! I'm now with the classic skin, and I like it so much better. Cool!

    Also, a question:

How do you get a custom "title" above your avatar? I noticed several members with them, but I've found no place to change it.

The title's are determined by the number of posts. I think the first threshold is 50.

But some people have "Unique" titles.

And that's because Hank has the keys to the kingdom.

The Forum Admin can assign custom user titles through the AdminCP.

Well, that was cool. I learned something new today and I like the classic format better too. Thanks for the info.

Now that you're in classic mode, do you know how to get to these links?

...particularly the "Profile" link, so you can edit your profile when you want to?

When I found that option, I tried it too. I didn't like it because I seemed to have lost all those links. I immediatly back-tracked into the page history, and changed it back.

I switched to Classic too. It's too late to backtrack so how do I edit my profile?

I don't know, maybe ask Hank or a Mod to switch it back for you?

For the other stuff (everything but the last line), you can access them from the home page. http://www.xmarksthescot.com/

Wow!! I was going to sugest using "Search" to find a profile link, but I just checked, and it seems you don't even have that function. The more I look at that mode, the less I like it!!

For anyone else curious about the Alexis vs. Classic contorversy, let me make a suggestion.

Rather than dive in headfirst without knowing the depth of the water, take a sneaky peek first.

Start by right clicking on the profile button and open it in a new screen. Then select either the Alexis or Classic at the line labled Board Style. The click on the "Submit" button.

Next, click on the return to Forum Index button.

If you like the new look, all is well and good. If you don't like it, close the window, and use the forum window you originally left to go back and change the "Board Style" choice back to the original setting.

That at least is how I did it. I went back to Alexis, I don't like the Classic style.
