YEAH!

The Mrs. rolls her eyes when I drop $100 - plus on a kilt, but she doesn't think twice about going and spending double that on a dress. Slacks for a job interview for her push $100. Besides running shoes, she drops $100 on a pair of shoes without thinking twice, ditto for the purse. Her dance/aerobics shoes are $125. On my first sail to Hawaii I came back with a drop-dead gorgeous silk dress and overblouse for her. It set me back a few pennies. She's never worn it, not once and it sits in her closet. If I had something that cost that much sitting in my closet I'd walk around dizzy from guilt and if I REALLY wasn't going to wear it, I'd get rid of it.

I pointed all this out to her and she readily admitted it was true. She's been accustomed to me shopping for shoes at the "overstock" rack at Big 5 Sports and getting shoes that last for years for $25, and doing most of my clothes shopping at Mervyn's and REI.
