Oh, I see what you mean. The instructions on page 101 refet to finishing the _facing_, which means the back side. So, that's the free edge of the facing on the back side, which you catch stitch just like you finish the free edge on the back side of the apron edge. You don't do any stitching on the front edge of the underapron.
