from what I gather, it was a leine, yes... someone correct me if I'm wrong

I will defer to Matt Newsome--he is the real expert--but the short answer is that Highlanders were dressed like the Irish--leine and brat (mantle). Lowlanders dressed much like the English. Wallace was a lowlander.
