Portsmouth Kiltmaker

I am planning a short stop in Portsmouth England in June and would like to add to the kilt collection while there. Does anyone know of a quality maker in that area?

Don't know any kiltmakers but when you're there you wont be far from Salisbury, beautiful little city and a really nice Cathedral - very well know. Definitely worth a look in, and what's more, about 20 mins up the main road is the little known domino set by the name of Stone Henge.

Used to have a girlfriend in Salisbury so I got to know it a bit.

Hope you have a great time there, do try to have a walk along South Parade Pier in Southsea!

Kiltmakers....personally, I doubt it, try further north, much further! but think of me when you're there!

My home town (city actually!) too! Born in Southsea and educated at Portsmouth Grammar School (1943-1954).

I now live just an hour's drive from Portsmouth but very seldom go back. After the Luftwafe had done their stuff there in WWII, the city planners finished the job and ruined the dear old place forever! Still, it does have some splendid Naval and Marine museums, and the D-Day Museum is well worth a visit. There are masses of special events taking place in Portsmouth this summer, it being the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, including a massive assembly of naval warships from over 40 countries. But I digress......

Kiltmaker(s) in the area - if there are any, I'd like to know about them! No, I'd say that the nearest would be in London and, even then, they'd probably be agents for Scottish kiltmakers. There are many Scottish shops scattered across England, but something like 95% of them are not kiltmakers, only agents.
