    Signing in Issue

Is anyone else having problems with the site not remembering their login information? I thought it might have been a cookie problem, but it is not happening with any other site that I visit. It worked fine on this site until yesterday afternoon. Now I have to sign in everytime, rather than having the system remember my info. Any thoughts?

There's a lot of variables that could be at work here; what browser you're using and how it handles cookies, what the operating system does in handling (Mac and Windows do it a bit differently), how you have you're settings for cookies et al, cache settings, how many sites you visit between XMarks and the security settings. For example, on one machine, I never have to log in. It's using Foxfire with Mac OSX and set to remember specific sites. However, if I go away for a long weekend or a business trip and don't log onto the site with it, I will have to login when I next hit X Marks. With my home desktop running Mac 9.1 with IE, I have caching set to empty at the end of every session so I have to log in every time.

The short answer is that you have some setting that is deleting or not even accepting the cookies for remembering you.

Yes Colin, the same thing has suddenly happened to me. Just in the last couple of days. No idea why.

Good to hear it is not just me. The settings were fine since I joined ages ago, and have only been an issue in the past day or so. As I said, I don't think this is a cache or cookie issue, as no other sites I visit have been affected.

Hank, there's been a hiccup or two with the forum. The viewtopic.php file has been doing some "funny" formatting, the last day or two. I notice it is not acting up today, however.

LOL, now that I look, I see that posting.php has increased font size in the other posts in this thread and they are all "bold".

Yaaaaa, your php files are alive...

That's Hank gone for several days. He'll dive into that ACP and forget to ever come back.

    Colin,

I was browsing through the forums two days ago, when I was suddenly logged-out without warning. When I logged back on, all of the codes showing unread messages had changed to everything having been read. The problem hasn't occurred since.
