Thanks Gentlemen
After about two weeks of visiting this forum and screwing my courage to the sticking point I finally decided to order my kilt today. Thanks for all the great information you have left in your posts. You helped me pick a kiltmaker and have opened my eyes to some of the situations a kilted person can find themselves in. Keep the information and your stories flowing.
Thanks!!

You have taken the first step. Congradulations.
Now, you must screw up your courage to wear it. I wish you the best of luck, and promise you it will be life changing.

South Florida, huh?
Atleast, you'll get PLENTY of weather and time to wear the thing! The kilt makes a GREAT swimming suit accessory too. Wear it to the beach with a t-shirt, and peel-down once you're there. I've done that at West Palm and got nothing but GREAT reactions!
Arise. Kill. Eat.

Congratulations on placing the order. Inquiring minds want to know - what did you order and who did you order from?
Welcome to X Marks, by the way!

what did you decide to go with?

I went with a 13oz. worsted wool (light weight so I don't burst into flames). The kilt is being made by USA Kilts. They had the Anderson tartan in stock so it was a done deal. It is from their primier line of kilts. I can't wait to get it. My wife asked where would I wear a kilt? My answer: Where wouldn't I wear one!

With 13oz wool in the South with high heat and humidity, you are going to die!
Right now, for me, and I live in SC, if I wear anything over 11oz weight, it is utterly unbearable.
Still beats the hot swampy feeling of pants. 8)
