You are all going to hate me...

I went to their parking lot sale last weekend and traded a utilikilt to one of their guys for $250.00 worth of stuff.

I got the sjambok, and its a really wonderful little thing. All sorts of uses, and the new handles are so much better than the old. The degree of control you have over the striking force is very precise, anything from a simple tap to something that can break skin.

I also got their grivory skean du, which is basically a super tough plastic resin. No cutting edge to speak of but its still a very functional stabbing piece.

Lynn said they are going to be producing a new skean du in metal based on the design of their plastic one too. I'll be looking for that when it comes out.

I also got a couple of 3" voyagers, the Recon 1, 3 kukri machetes, the gurka kukri, battle mace, spetznaz shovel, ready edge, bushman, and their assegai.

    Good stuff.

I keep a Sjambok in a handy location on my recumbent bicycle. Very few people would even notice it, even though it is in plain sight. I love cold steel products! I have a few years of Filipino martial arts experience and I love playing with sticks & knives. I had no problem when I broke one of several Cold Steel throwing knives I own, they replaced it ASAP.

My usual choice for a sock knife when kilted in non-formal situations is my Jaguar M4 Balisong.

Went to Vegas for my wedding. For obvious FAA reasons I didn't take my knife....

I felt completely naked with out it.. While I was there, I realized how much it had become a part of my every day life.

My life, my knife....... It kinda da works, together....

You could have put it into your checked luggage with no problem. Trouble only comes when someone stuffs it in their carry-on luggage.

Don't know how much problem it would have been in Las Vegas. Should have been alright in the chapel anyway.

Of course, this the coolest item item in the Cold Steel catalog- a DVD on how to use a sarong as a weapon.
