X Marks tartan, pleat to the stripe
I was intrigued to see the differences between different tartans, pleated to the stripe in that thread the other day. I decided to get an idea what the X Marks tartan would look like, pleated to the stripe. Now, the X Marks sett is about 9 inches, so depending on which stripe you pick and how wide you make the part of the pleat that shows, you get some very different effects. Here's what I came up with, displayed on my web site...

Thanks, Alan, it's nice to see that displayed. I prefer the yellow stripe, wide pleats, but the nice thing is that everyone can make up their own mind on the matter, or have it pleated to the sett.

That is the great thing about kilts and tartan, isn't it? It amazes me how many different looks one can make from a single tartan..
