Welcome!!
As one who is just staring on the pipes, its nice to see another piper, here (not that I am one, there are some others here, and the numbers seem to be growing)
An old set of Hendersons! What a treasure, and what a great tribute to your past Pipe Major! Play them with pride and remembrance!
Again, welcome!!

welcome aboard hpd! nice to have you along.
Just a side note: I went to both your web sites (browsing now) and noticed that when initially visiting them, it resizes my browser window (in thew newest versions of both IE and Firefox) I didn't know if it was intentional or not, but I wanted to throw that out there ;)

Kilted Storm Trooper
Oh, and Alan, as much as I would have loved to have been the Kilted Storm Trooper, I am the one on the right. The Storm Trooper is my friend Jason Collier of Pelham, Alabama, winner of Access Hollywood's Ultimate Star Wars fan contest and TOTAL Star Wars geek. During the opening weekend of Star Wars Episode III, he and several other Storm Troopers, as well as Darth Vader, Greedo, a couple of Tusken Raiders, Princess Leia, and a few random Padawans paraded around at the local Rave Theaters in their costumes. In honour of this event, we worked up a version of John Williams' Star Wars theme for the pipes. He said that if we came to the Rave he was at that he'd wear a kilt over his armour, and so he did. You can see more pics from the event on our website at hpd-pipeband.org. Probably one of the most entertaining gigs we have ever played. Here is an article from the Birmingham Post-Herald about Jason that I got interviewed for too: http://www.postherald.com/fe051805.shtml. All the best everyone, and thanks again for the welcome! Cheers! -- Ry

Glad you got over this way and welcome aboard Ryan. I like this site better than the tribe forums; still feeling my way around there, but its different to say the least.

Been on tribe.net for a year myself, but there just aren't many pipers on there. I am starting to finally find a community though. It's out there, it's just taking time for them to find their way there. Anyway, thanks again for inviting me here! -- Ry

Hey Ryan,
Welcome aboard. I'm new here myself. This place is THE place to be for those into kilts of any kind. I saw your StormTrooper friend on Rick and Bubba on opening day of the movie. I don't think Die-Hard says it enough.
If you stick around long enough, you'll figure out what the "jonesing" is all about
Later,
HeathBar
