Ya...I was afraid of that. I thought about that and I don't see any easy way to make the proper alterations without taking the kilt completely apart. It appears that my best option is to sell this one and buy another.
Hmmmm.....

An inch or 2 you can get away with just moving straps and buckles, but more than that it won't look good.

Well, unfortunatly, it really needs to be taken in about 4 inches, although I could get away with 2 inches. What I just thought about was laying out the kilt on the table and seeing what it would look like to add an extra pleat on each end of the pleated section. A seamstress may be able to do this without taking the pleated section completely apart. The waist liner would have to be taken out but that is hardly a big deal since that is not seen anyway.
By the way...if I haven't said it already...thanks to all for your thoughts. :P

Well, thanks for all the help...I've made up my mind. I'm going to go ahead and sell the one I have and purchase a new kilt. If I take a chance and have the kilt altered and it still doesn't fit right or the end result just doesn't look good I will have wasted a good bit of money. So, the prudent thing to do is sell this one and get a new one.
Again...thanks to all for your help
