Will this work for sporran strap

I'm considering making a sporran strap that is basically a round braid with clips on each end. Along the lines of this http://www.rudedogleather.com/classe...d1/4cord1.html

My concern is that this will tend to roll down unless it is run thru a belt loop. Would this be too annoying?

Another option I'm toying with is shown on this 8 ply bolo cord w/ flat neck piece. http://www.bolotie.com/supplies.htm only larger.

In your opinions are these feasible?
Is there someone out there already making this?
