    tattoo...

I've been trying to ID some of the uniforms, Jimmy...the one group in the right foreground may be members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, a volunteer organisation similar to our Red Cross. You find them in the UK and the Commonwealth. But they could also be a fire or police brigade contingent -- Graham, do you have a program that lists the participants?

Looks like some Royal Australian Navy and Australian Army -- the lads in the slouch hats on both sides of the dancers -- the fellows on the right are wearing the Aussie pattern camo uniforms.

I have to disagree with Graham about tattoos enforcing certain notions about kilts; I personally wish we had tattoos here in the colonies (only a few games do), since it is a very moving and positive exposure to folks who may not have ever seen a kilt before. I know our piper's public appearance at the local Memorial Day program at the National Cemetery serves a good "ambassador" for our Scottish society in general -- I've had folks come up to me when I'm "oot & aboot" and said, "oh, I loved the piper at the veterans cemetery".

    Cheers,

    Todd
