However, FedEx sent me an $80.00 bill for duty a month later.
Interestingly, I never got any sort of FedEx bill or anything, but I DID get harassed by them to fill out Patriot Act documents and such. It was harder to get the kilt from Memphis to Columbus than it was to get it from Edinburgh to Memphis...
Hmmmm... I've an 8-yd on order from them due around the end of July (Forde Irish tartan! My great-grandma Ford was right off the boat from the Old Sod!). I wonder if I'll get nailed by extra duty fees or not....

Patriot Act documents??? That's a new one on me. Did they think the fabric was woven of C4?
Who knows what they thought. This isn't the place for my political views, but suffice to say that I must have spent enough that it flagged something when it came through customs. Silly crap, but that's what you get when paranoia is the law of the land.
