    "Hey I know that tartan!"

Seeing as we don't see as many kilts on the tube as we would like to, I have started to pay more attention to tartans that are used in other clothing and have been surprised to see quite a few that I have recognized.

    One example:
I was watching "Ghostbusters" or "Ghostbusters II" (I was asleep for a good chunk of it) and I woke up seeing Genine (the secretary) in what I swore was a coat made out of a Menzies Mourning (B + W) tartan. My wife thought I was way too excited.

I'm curious to find out if I'm the only one who does this on a regular basis. I've been known to re-watch an episode of something that I was almost positive was a Menzies tartan, only to be disappointed when I inspect it further.

We all have our own little nerosis', this just happens to be one that I've recently discovered.

    Happy viewing,

I've started noticing tartans around me in other ways....shirts, tablecloths, stuff like that. Nine months ago I could've cared less!

I think all of us start noticing tartans wherever we may be. I know I have found myself looking at a tablecloth and noticing the tartan there.

    tartan hunting...

    George,

Yep, I find myself doing that all of the time, and not just with movies & the tele...To Page's chagrin sometimes, I will also do it when we're out in public -- "hey, look that guy's wearing a shirt in Buchanan!"

But, you're talking about the fellow who picks historical movies apart because of uniforms, kit and weapons mistakes, not to mention inaccurate plots & stories! I was given strict orders NOT to say anything in "Pearl Harbor" -- and boy, I had a LOT to say about it! ;)

    Cheers,

    Todd
