And, re: the Daleks, I've heard it said that a real Dalek doesn't climb stairs. They blow up the building.

How absolutely cool! My wife and I have watched the "Good Dr." for many years and were quite happy to see the series brought back. I never was a big a fan as she but a kilted Dr. Who might just change that.
I hope this happens it is just the boost that kilts need to mainstream after the obligatory fad passes. Hmm- I wonder if he'll go with tartan or plain?

Good lord... here they come!
I think it was episode 6 or 7 this season where they reintroduced the Daleks through a single Dalek that was stranded on Earth. They introduced a number of new capabilities of daleks, including several uses for the enigmatic toilet plunger arm.
They also had some very matrix-like effects of bullets slowing down as they approached the daleks and being vaporized in a sort of shield surrounding them.

I used to watch this show relgiously, but it was always on our PBS station and shows on that were very hard to keep track of. I stopped watching during the Peter Davidson era, and I think I caught one or two of the Colin Baker ones, but I can barely remember them. Still, it was always a fun show as long as you could put aside the horrible special effects (at the time).

David Tennant is a very popular actor, his real name is David McDonald and he was recently pictured in a prince charle and McDonald kilt

They've largely fixed that problem, BTW.

So I've heard. But fixing that problem helped make the show more expensive to produce, leading to its original demise, or so I've heard. Shows like Battlestar Galactica have had the same issue.

The budget is massive but with distribution its making a fortune so the BBC have orede 2 more series.
David changed his name because of the actors union "Equity" will only allow one actor to use a name, there was already a David McDonald so he had to use a "stage name" I dont know where he got "Tennant" from its a Scots name so Im assuming he has a family connection its also an excelent brew of Beer!!

Ah but Battlestar Galactica is being funded by channels airing it simultaneously on two different continents. If only one of the two parties were funding it, it would be prohibitively expensive (kind of like when the Sci Fi channel dropped Farscape even though it was their most popular show).
I'm really enjoying the return of both of these shows. We know both are coming back for another season but let's just hope they can continue to raise the bar on both of them.

I believe that Doctor Who is a BBC and CBC co-production. It's being shown here (in Canada) as well as in the U.K.
