More Proof Ladies Love Kilts

Wow, someone's been doing some good work down in Tucson, AZ.

Every year I go to a four day conference down in Tucson for training hours I need for State license renewal. Missed last year for some reason.

So this morning I'm on the phone registering for this year's conference and the lady taking the registration knows me from past years. After, we were catching up and I mentioned I'd be more comfortable this year for the four days of sitting through workshops - that I'd discovered kilts and would be at the conference kilted.

Her response was instant, "Sweeeeet" in the tone of what could best be described as a female wolf whistle....

I've found in the few months I've worn the kilt that I get a LOT more comments from the ladies than I do guys, and the vast majority is VERY positive. Of course that just makes me want to wear a kilt more often!

Through my own daily wearing of the kilt, I reckon that about one in ten women has a "kilt fetish" and will find herself attracted to a man even as ugly as me (and I am very ugly). I think most women are indifferent. Some are completely turned off (I had one woman shaking her head and scowling at me when she saw me getting out of my car yesterday).

It's the 1 out of 10 that really put steam in a man's stride.

Reading all these reactions to the kilt just floors me. I rarely EVER get any reaction from anyone. Maybe it's just the nature of things in Columbus, but for the most part I just get ignored.

Of course, I haven't worn it to any festivals, etc. My wife and I have been sort of homebodies since Duncan was born in November - and Jenn gave me my Utilikilt just a few days earlier for my birthday/our anniversary. We've made the occasional trip to the movies or a bar for lunch, but no wild nights out. Maybe that will change once we get more social again.

I have multiple people approaching me each and every day. Mostly positive & polite. Some are rude/ignorant. Very rarely just plain mean.

I can't tell you how many times a day I must tell people that I don't play bagpipes. So in my ammo pouch that I started wearing today, I am carrying a trump (Jew's Harp). This way when people ask the bagpipe question I can say "no but I play one of these" and start playing wherever I'm at. That should give them something to scratch their heads about.

With my ability to pretty much break wind at will, when people ask me if I play the bag pipe, I'll say "No, but I play the **** pipe!" and procede to cock my leg and whistle them a little tune out my ****. I am a true Lady From Hell... Sulfur and brimstone smell and all.

I like that response. I should pull out my harmonica and do the same thing. That is one question I do get on occasion, as I'm sure I don't have to tell anyone. Any time you can confuse 'em, they're more likely to leave you alone.
