Latest kilted outing.
A convention banquet, last week. Seen here with a non-kilted friend. Poor guy.
I know the purists will find a couple of faults - both a belt AND a waistcoat; a semi-dress sporran (the great Thompson called them "neither flesh, fowl, nor good red herring").
To this I say, "Bite me, purists!"

Scottish Borderland. It's #5359 in the registry at the Scottish Tartans Authority.

Good on ya, Bob -- great photo, everytime I see the Borderlands tartan I want it more!
As a "purist", I have gotten used to the "semi-dress" sporran, since it is an economical alternative for many folks who are buying Highland kit for the first time -- and sometimes, a kilt belt is necessary with a vest -- one of my friends needs one because of the weight he's lost! ;)
Cheers,
Todd

It is always good to see a kilted gentlemen next to a non-kilted gentlemen, as they seemed more relaxed.
Good picture Bob!

Thanks, guys.
I have a dress sporran, but that Holstein-skin sporran is my favorite. I live in an area with lots of dairy farms.
Besides, I was the only one in a room of 500 people who even knew the difference! :-D
