Graham, such bans never work. To make it effective you'd have to completely stop worldwide prroduction of weapons and parts. Fat chance of THAT happening.

I remember Jack the lad promising the Skien dubh would be exempted from legislation. Unfortunatly scotland does have a knife crime problem , but thats because all the police are in the station filling in forms or attending Diversity courses.

I split this thread and deleted the last 2/3 of it because it had become completely off topic as well as heading into a political fight.

As we were saying before we were so rudely interupted.

Knife Control is like gun control, this is something that the English have been trying to force up our kilts for a long time. This non-sense from the Scottish Parlement is a sure sign that anybody worthwhile left Scotland before 1850.

Lots of Scots think it's pretty stupid too. It's the idiots politicians and the do-gooders you have to watch out for. They need to be smacked down every so often.

I kind of like Chris Rock's idea to just make ammo prohibitively expensive. You'd really have to think about it before you shot a $2000 bullet.

If I'd been drinking anything, there'd be a whitewash of whatever liquid on my iMac.... thanks Dread!

Watch out Sir Robert and Bubba!

The words "guns" and "politics" frighten the moderators.

Well, maybe not so much frighten as remind them of the RULES that our Webbie has established, eh?

Sometimes we all feel a bit restricted by rules, but we always need to remember that like 'em or not, it's not our sandbox we're playing in. Be they right or be they wrong, we're just expected to remain within them. Which doesn't seem so hard to do, especially when there are gazillions of other forums that are established for the sole purpose of discussing weapons and politics.

Of course they might find it rather strange if you began discussing kilts on one of those forums... ;)
