RE: Homegrown Kiltpins
Not having a real kiltpin, I decided to try my hand at making one.
I considered using a coin as the base, and weighed several US, Italian and Dutch coins that I had on hand. Final choice was a bronze Masonic Commemorative Coin issued bu Northern District Scottish Rite Masons to celebrate George Washington's 250th Birthday.
I super glued a pinback to the reverse side of the coin. The coin is 1.5" in diameter and weighs just under one ounce (322.5 grains to be precise). That ought to not only look pretty sharp but keep the apron down as well.
I'll let y'all know how well it works after we get back from Starkeville tomorrow.
