    Definitely Non Traditional Belt

    Gents and ladies:

I ordered a belt from a kilt maker who shall remain nameless, big honking 3" leather jobby with a crossbar. Somehow it managed to show up about 6" too short. I pondered on it, and thought about it, and wondered if I'd ever just shrink down to the right size to fit it, and finally concluded that I wouldn't.

So I improvised, I adapted, and dadgumit, I overcame.

I went and found a 2.5" nylon webbing duty belt, black. (Unfortunately, I threw away the rest and residue, so I'm not quite sure who made it.) This one is a little thinner than the GI pistol belt, and it had a two piece buckle, which attached on either end by wraparound velcro.

I cut a rectangular slot for the big kilt buckle to fit, and used an old leather punch to cut tongue holes. I think it would look like hammered horse poop with a tank, but it actually looks pretty sharp with a contemporary kilt. I'll try and get pictures taken this afternoon.

Yes, I AM a silly boy!
