If the Stillwater Wool Kilts are well made, I wonder how they are going to impact the kilt makret?

Until the tartan range is greatly expanded, I don't think it will seriously effect the general market, but it will certainly help Stillwater's profit margin.

Sure wish I was skinny enough for one of those Hummers to go around me.

Let's take a look at what they're doing at StillWater.

1). The aprons have been corrected to include a wider size, and a nice taper.

2). The pleats are deep and numerous.

3). The materials and linings are being ever expanded.

4). The "Heavy Weight" and now the "Wools" are in response to our wants.

5). The colors and tartans are being added... as per everyone's requests.

~It takes a LOAD of capital to get a new line rolling. This is NOT some little podunk outfit that is able to stock a few yardss and claim to have 100's of tartans. These guys are investing in the business, and changing the way that we're buying.

~With their prices and the quality that you get for it... I'm MORE than willing to back them with purchases and reviews. Besides that, they're ORIGINAL with the materials and offerings.

~Most of all, they're answering our requests rather than telling us what we can have. I don't want to be told what material I can have, I want to be able to request a material... and get it. The future solids are going to be HUGE!!!! And I'll be the first in line for a certain color.

Well shoot, I wish I had waited before ordering my original SW Heavyweight in Blackwatch. If I knew they were going to come out with 100% wool for only $150, I would have waited.

Any word on the wool Black Watch being as dark as the acrylic Black Watch? I'll probably hold out for another tartan but that was an issue for me that the tartan colors were sooooo dark on the acrylic.

I found out about the wool because I was about to order the acrylic and they didnt have it in my size, I emailed and asked and they said they were phasing out the acrylics, because wool was a better fabric for their top-o-the-line kilts, and that it should be in 'in a few days'. Well, it was, so I ordered one.

Cant comment on the darkness of the acrylic fabric, but I'll take some pics when mine arrives... if the USPS does their job it'll be here tomorrow. If they are true to form, it'll be lost in the mail and after a few insurance claims I'll have it in a few weeks ;)
