    Oot and Aboot Part 2

    Here I am in one of my Pittsburgh kilts from Jeff. This is the 12oz brushed cotton twill in black. I think the shirt speaks for itself ;-)

    I did not realise just how wide the PK aprons were.

    Incredible kilt there. Doesn't seem to look as thought it's terribly affected by "curling."

    I really, really need to get me a PK.

    Dread, their isn't a lot of curling, it had been about four days since I last pressed the pleats on that particular kilt. Jeff's work is solid. I can't say enough about the quality of his work.

    Glen, that is the typical attitude of most chefs and cooks. When you put up with whiney pantywaists in a hot kitchen, you reach the point where you don't give a rat's ****. That attitude quickly spreads to the rest of your life, and people tend to make interesting descriptive names about you and your "attitude." It is something a lot of cooks and chefs seem to have in common. I suspect that most chef or cook types would be naturals for kilt wearers. Infact, IIRC, there are other members of this board that are cooks... Isn't there a KiltedChef around here or something like that?

    Off topic, anybody watching that show Hell's Kitchen on Fox? I totally love that show! And I am not a big tv watcher at all.

    Although I won't call myself a chef, I have spent a few years cooking in different restaurants. Not anymore though, now I'm a desk jockey. Any cooking I do is for my own benefit.

    "Here's a little hint, I don't care!"

    and my favorite,

    "Life's to short to cook for you people."

    If a customer doesn't have a sense of humour too bad. I bust my butt day after day refusing to compromise my standards all because some idiot thinks they know how to do my job better than I do. I've been working in kitchens since I was 16, almost half my life, and I let my food do my talking for me.

    Oh good grief, I had this manager one time... A new hire, knew absolutely nothing about cooking or food preperation, but he was put in charge of the place. He stood over my shoulder telling me what to do... And kept irritating me. "That obviously needs more salt" or "Hey, that's gonna burn if you keep it over an open flame like that!"

    I settled his hash by grabbing him by his little perfect pony tail and holding his face inches above a boiling bubbling deep fat fryer and telling him to STFU or else I would baptise him in the grease.

    No, I didn't not get fired. The OWNER of the place overrode the new manager's decision to fire me. The manager however, was canned.
