    BabySkirt.com

    Hi all,

    Check this out: http://babyskirt.com

Anyone ever tried out these folks? Obviously not for us, but for the wee bairns! I'm looking at them right now, and slap me silly but those look like kilts to me. I think the first three on the "products" page are just backwards, as are the ones that the model baby is wearing. If you look at the enlarged pics you can just barely see what looks like an apron hanging a bit below the bottom.

Oh... if my wife sees me looking at this for Duncan, I am in trouble! ;)

That's actually the same infant that sport kilt is using on their site for baby kilts. Same city, differnet address.

For a baby, I have no problem with the Sport-kilt. IMHO, it's the idea that matters. I'm NOT spending beaucoup de bucks for a kilt that my son is going to grow out of in a couple of months. But something like this might be just the thing.

I only paid $40 canadian for a kids kilt at my local Scottish shop. These look more fitting for my daughter than my son. For the extra $5 (cheaper actually since it's a US site) I would prefer that his kilt looks like a kilt. I bought this one 2.5 years ago and it still fits (for a few more weeks anyway). http://www.tartantown.com/

For $15 more (and for older kids) check out Bear's page for Cub kilts http://bearkilts.com/cub/cubkiltspg.html

$50 US and the tartan selection is the same. I have only seen the Cub kilts on Cub, but they look like the same quality and design as Bear's casual kilts.

My wife makes infant kilts to order. Basicly it's a scarf and some elastic. They're just ornamental and people seem to like them. She also makes what she calls a "growth-spurt" kilt for boys. It's a simple form of kilt with an elastic waist. It's designed to be easy to let out as the kid grows. People seem to be happy with both of these pseudo-kilts for kids. You definitely don't want to spend money on a real kilt for someone who's going to outgrow it before you have a chance to pay the credit card bill.
