To wear it or not to wear it
Well, it looks like I may have to go with the wife to the midnight pickup of the Harry Potter book. Typically I wear my kilt everywhere. Thing is I am thinking twice about wearing my kilt to the pickup tonight. From my understanding, people dress up in costumes and such for these midnight pickups of the new Harry Potter books. I would not wear my kilt to a Halloween party, so I am appreshensive to wear it to something where other people dress up and make it seem that kilts are costumes.

If you wear it everywhere, don't let this be an exception.

Good call, Bob. Also, when people ask who you're supposed to be, you can look at them like they have an extra nose and ask them what they mean.

Correct Answer!
A kilt is a piece of clothing. It should be respected and worn as clothing. It should never be put in the category of a Halloween costume!

If they ask, tell them you're the author....or went to school where Harry did...

Wear it. The more kids see the kilt in a regular fashion, the more accepted it will be.
By the way, any of our Vancouver friends get a hold of the book? Anyone want to face charges and let us in on the plot?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but does the 8th circuit court up there have anything better to do with their time?

My understanding is that Harry goes to school, and then has to uncover some sort of plot by Lord Voldemort. 8-)

I heard that, too.
By the way, did you see the Gilligan's Island where they almost got off the Island, but Gilligan screwed things up?
Good times.

Wear the kilt as you would wear it any other day.

Last night..midnight ... long line...lots of little Harry Potters.....LOTS of big Harry Potters....one guy in kilt.
I had to walk the entire length of the line to get a cup of coffee and got some of the strangest looks. Everyone was trying to figure out what character I was dressed as.
Every time someone got that look I said " I downloaded the book from the internet last week, you'll find out which character wears the kilt."
As soon as the ice was broken I got quite a few real questions and handed out a ton of business cards.

I wear the kilt because: Swish + Swagger = Swoon.
