    Loyal Kilt Supporters

When we were out with quite a few friends last Sunday, we were all walking towards a pub which had a beer garden at the front. There were only three guys drinking together sat around one of the tables. They were burly type men all in vests displaying their sun tans. Guess there ages would be late 30’s. One of them obviously spotted me and started to laugh and then continued to alert his friends. Then they were all smiling and laughing and then chin wagging then looking again and laughing etc. Guess you all got the picture. I said to my friends these guys obviously find my kilt quite entertaining. I wasn't at all bothered by it at all by the way. As we went passed them the lady on the far left in the picture below told them to ‘grow up and stop acting like pathetic children’. Then one of the other women laid in and said ‘I feel sorry for people like you’. We didn't stop or anything, it just all happened as we passed and entered the pub. Derek

    I was wondering...

...in Wales, what attitude do people generally have towards the kilt?

Hi Tim .. In Wales, my experience so far in wearing a Cilt ... its just that .. its simply looked at as a Cilt .. no big deal. It certainly gives one confidence for those like me who are still treading the boards about regular kilt wearing. Derek

It truly is a remarkable thing to find supporters from places we least expect it.

    Thanks Derek

    question for Derek

Does the Welsh language has it own terminology-distinct from, say, Scots Gaelic-for the Cilt?

    Hey G-man

    Least expects it? :-)

Wales as Scotland, Ireland, Isle of Man and Cornwall have a long history of kilt wearers, i suppose in the main if your country is of Celtic origin then there are Kilt wearers, however i have never seen any kilt wearers from Brittany in France of which is also Celtic land.

    Regards all
