I got two skirt hangers at the dollar store ($1 each). They are wooden, have two sliding clips each and are the same width as normal coat hangers. With the kilt folded inside out and in thirds, the whole thing is supported by the four clips of the two hangers side by side. I don't find that the pleats get out of whack, or that there is too much unsupported kilt at either end. The thing is to use two hangers for one kilt; it works for me. Hope this helps,
