Kilts Are Sooooo Addicting
Keep reading the welcomes to newcomers about how addicting kilts are.
Not a bad addiction when its 107 degrees out.
But there are complications....like ALL the accessories that accumulate...the need for more closet space...special hangers....cost of photos to share...travel to events...
It was LESS than a year ago that my first kilt arrived...just 50 weeks ago.
I now own 24 kilts and have two traditional tartan tanks on order.
And I have two Macabi River Skirts
And no clue where it will stop.
I buy kilts to medicate the jones of waiting for kilts.
Last week I rearranged my office so clients and I won't be staring at each other face to face. Created sort of a "V" arrangement. The entire intent was to not have to worry so much about an accidental exposure at work.
My life revolves around kilts...which to wear today...what to wear with it...washing kilts, hanging them out to dry...
And of course maintaining a Wish List of kilts to buy next.
I'm a few months shy of 61 years old, hoping for another 20 or 30 years.
Aging kilted seems like a good way to go.
I see no signs of this addiction abating.
No one has said, "Get a life." Its obvious I have one....kilted

Addiction, I say NO. It is a life and my life is good because of it. I just need more kilts, sporrans, and other stuff that goes with them, no it is not an addiction.
Ron if it was an addiction, in 50 weeks you would have 25 kilts instead of 24!
OK I am finished, just remember that.......

Whew!
Thanks for that benchmark Glen....but wait....if Kathy gets the fabric and whips up the kilt as fast as she promised I could still become an addict....
Rob,
She's making up a Macdonald of Kingsburgh for me, a BEAUTIFUL tartan that also happens to be from my branch of the clan's home country on the Trotternish penisula of Skye above Portree.
Not sure if this link will work, its on tartans by air site

Also have her lined up for a traditional in the X Marks Tartan.

Also Addicted
Yes, I have a problem. I, too, am addicted to kilts. I love to wear them, the feel, the look, the comfort. I am so addicted that I learned to make my own. Have designed several different looks for the modern American interpretation of the traditional kilt. I am up to 12 in less than six months. Pics will follow shortly on my website which I will post here as soon as I get it up.

A nice looking tartan....almost "West Pointy" Long Gray Line...as well as a fine clan tartan.
It is so very cool to have been able to visit Kathy's digs last month and have HER take my measurments. And to see her again this month while wearing the kilt she sewed for me so she can see how it fits on me.
Should help a lot with the next two kilts.
Of course getting hugs from your kiltmaker is even better.

I'm having it pleated to the stripe. So it will be the black stripes on a grey background. And I'm jealous of kiltmaker hugs, I want some
