I found out what rolled pleats were. WOW!

Must be one hell of a tank of a kilt. In 22 ounce wool, that be a heavy kilt!

Bubba, just got an email from Jerry. Looks like 23 inch is the shortest. A bit long on me, but I may do it and wear it a bit high(er).

    David,

Keep in mind that military kilts are typically made with a 4" rise versus the more standard 2" rise on civillian kilts. So you will likely want a kilt a bit longer than you normally wear anyway.

I'm planning on getting one in the 23" length. Granted I normally wear a 21" so I'd wear it higher than a civilian kilt but a bit lower than military. Seems like a good compromise to me.

Got some replica RAF Flying gloves for myself and my little brother from Jerry. Incredible price for fine gloves. Same as our father's old ones that got lost. Hard to get ahold of, busy guy, but very nice and informative on the phone. No worries.

The 'rolled pleats' as described are a lot less trouble to care for and maintain their shape almost regardless of treatment. You can easily see this if you experiment with folded paper, simulating ordinary knife pleats as opposed to the rolled pleats as illustrated by Deadbelly. If pleated to the stripe a kilt made this way can have a manageable length of cloth.

No worries. No matter how you say it, I smell like a rotten corpse either way. There be a reason why folk call me that.
