Greetings gentlemen,
Just wanted to give you an account of how my first night out on the town kilted went.
My co-workers and I planned a get together at a local restaurant to celebrate the finish of summer school (K-5 teacher). I had warned them that I was going kilted. When I arrived I was applauded by my co-workers on my courage to wear it out.
The evening went well and I was only asked once what I was wearing under the kilt (by the boss-lady). One of my co-worker's sons asked me why I was wearing a dress. He is only about 6 so I told him it was a kilt and that men all over the world wear kilts. Some of the other kids were a little suprised, but to the credit of one of my co-workers, her daughter knew what it was upon sight.
The best part of the evening was when I had to run to the restroom. The kilt drew a few double-takes and a family from one of the tables I passed gave me an encouraging comment.
The whole evening went well so my next step will be either wearing it to work or next time we are off to the mall.
