I can understand that completely. I spent several hours at a a local POWWOW dancing with a kilt on. After hours of dancing in the sun, I was ready to get out of it when I arrived home.

I was the only guy in a kilt there. I did have two people ask in a friendly way what clan I belonged to. But most people regard it simply as my regalia.
