Hey Millar!!! A fellow Philadelphian!!!
Post your waist, hip, and length preference and let's see if there's someone with an extra kilt that's willing to help. I know that I've given a bunch of my off-sized and not-worn-so-much kilts to "newbies" on this board for free. I have enough of them that it's actually fun to help someone out.
There's PLENTY of opportunity to wear the kilts around here, and you'll find that out pretty quickly.
Stillwater Kilts are a wonderful purchase. I have a few. For the hiking side of kilts, there are two that I can suggest... and both are from right here in Pennsylvania. The AmeriKilts from Mike are good. Since they're not bulky or wool, they're easy to maintain and quite functional. The Pittsburgh Kilts from Jeff are custom-made to your specifications. Possibly more functional than the AmeriKilts, they're also VERY well-made. Both will do the job perfectly and still allow you comfort. Price is about the same too.
Arise. Kill. Eat.

Thanks Jimmy
Wow Thanks for all the information. I am currently losing weight (40lbs and counting)and the kilt is the payoff for all the hard work, and I have to wait until I get to the goal (another 20lbs) before I post the measurements.
I read your reviews on the PK's and they sound perfect for hiking, the inside pocket is really cool, and the USA's are really ideal for everything else and close by so no shipping costs and I want to support the PA guys.
Where did you learn kiltmaking? Your reviews were awesome and completely insightful.

The prices you see on USA kilts web site are "delivered". Whether Rocky takes the shipping out for pick-ups I don't know.
