A quick response, Colin: the detachable pockets do not work quite so well, in my opinion, on the tartan kilt. I have one only on my Gunn, Weathered Colours TFCK kilt, and unfortunately the pattern or sett of the tartan is broken because the pocket does not lie exactly in the right place when carrying items. It is not too bad when empty ...... but what is the point of that?! No, I do wear the pocket in lieu of a sporran sometimes, don't get me wrong, but it does not look as good as it does on the plain kilts. I also prefer to wear only one pocket at a time.
