    Another first

It was another first for me today. I went shopping with the wife and her friend to our local Sainsbury’s Supermarket .. Cilted. We needed some heavy items and I volunteered to carry it back. At last I fulfilled a promise to Hamish that one day I would. Result … well, no one was or seemed interested in me or my Cilt yet again. We even called in a Hypervalue store as well and it was the same there. Just thought I’d let you know.

Well done-I think that here in the UK the only enemy is one's own reluctance; and as you push your own limits that too will vanish.

The other day I was in an M4 Service Station and was approached by three chaps in shorts and wearing Swansea Football shirts-they in fact having seen my kilt wanted to talk about theirs-so you are not alone.

So keep up the good work, for the more the kilt is seen as a day to day garment-the more accepted it will be.

    Derek,

I too have notice that once they get used to seeing you dressed "out of the ordinary" they get to see YOU.

Well done, and keep up the good work!

Hey Derek, I can now also say that I've been to Sainsburys kilted, wasn't a lot of fun, I hate supermarkets at any time, and I did get a lot of strange looks from the english

Hi Graham, Firstly I'm glad you and Leslie are back home safely. I will pm you later this week. Elaine is working at a folk festival in Oxfordshire from today until Sunday with her friend Maria. I'm going up for the ride today and will go back with Maria's husband on Sunday again to pick them up. The point is .. they are camping and we will have to call in a Sainsburys, Tesco, Asda or whatever when we get near Oxford. Thanks for the insight. I will let you know how I get on.
